In the middle of April we have Malaga Holy Week, or Semana Santa Malaga. Here we share some history and other curiosities. Every year during Holy Week thousands of people travel to Malaga to see the impressive processions of the city.
Beginning Semana Santa Malaga
After the conquest of Malaga by the Catholic Monarchs in the year 1487, he joined the concert brother, already widespread in the rest of Andalusia and Malaga is produced in an explosion of the religious spirit. He created the first sororities and fraternities.

Legends Semana Santa Malaga
The Miracle of the Nazarene of vintners:
One of the legends of the city. In the sixteenth century, the legend data, also called “The Legend of Arcabucero”.
After the war, a arcabucero with soldiers of the armies of Flanders, fearful of perishing combat and having great problems of conscience, were to confess their sins to a priest Mercedario.
One of the soldiers, landed at the image of Jesus Nazareno vintners, crying and repenting of their deeds in war, begged forgiveness for the sin that troubled him the soul. He opened his eyes, saw Mr. severed his arm of the cross to give his blessing.
The arm never returned to its original position, thousands of people came to see this event.
It was because of this miracle, when the Thirds, began to accompany the brotherhood of vintners, first in the party’s January 1 and later, in Holy penitential procession of Holy Thursday.
The legend of Christ Ray
In 1870, above the city of Malaga hung a huge storm that spread panic among the residents.
