The chosen theme for the year 2013 is full of symbolism and meaning, putting maximum emphasis on the infamous red carpet.
From the 20th– 27th April, in the city of the Costa del Sol, the streets are filled with millions of visitors. Amongst them we can find professionals from the world of film, Spanish directors or producers like Pedro Almodovar or Alejandro Amenabar, as well as many famous actors and actresses like Antonio Banderas or Javier Bardem.
As well as this, throughout the week in Malaga you will find endless groups of press, film critics, film journalists, fashion journalists or the “farándula”, desperate to get a photo of their idols from the big screen. All of this is surrounded by more fans and onlookers who flock to the hotels or numerous red carpets ready to photograph their favorite stars.
Many moviegoers are fortunate enough to be able to take part in one of the many activities parallel to the festival and related to the world of film: “cult” or award-winning films from previous festivals are projected in various areas of the city, master-classes are organized and are taught by the senior film industry, the nominated films for this year are shown as well as films that have won previous awards in other festivals this year… In short, an endless list of activities to keep you entertained throughout the week during of Malaga Cinema Festival.
