I am a student at university in Germany and wanted to go abroad as part of my studies, so I decided to do an internship abroad. After a short search on the internet I found quite fast internships in Spain and on the german website Auslandsjobs I got in contact with OnSpain. After I had more detailed information about OnSpain and Málaga, I knew that I want to travel to Málaga.
Arrival and first impressions
It felt like the remained time went off as in flight and then suddenly I was in the air for real, on the airplane to my foreign internship. The journey to my shared appartment went without problems, as I was picked up directly from the airport, all organized by OnSpain. At the shared apartment in el Palo, I was more than surprised, on the one hand by my two nice flatmates and on the other hand, how pleasantly nice it is there, since I had some doubts before, how well this will be, but I was positively surprised. In general I was more than surprised by the beauty of this city and sat open-mouthed in the transfer car to admire the beautiful mountainous landscape and the sea.
In the first two weeks I had a language course in the fishing village Pedregalejo, not far from my apartment. The course really helped me to get used to my first time in Spain. The best part of the language course was that everything was very interactive, like we cooked together Tortilla de Patatas and there were lots of fun games.
All this has been two months now, so my internship is already going on and I reached the half-time. I got my internship directly at OnSpain, in the central and creative district of Soho, at the Marketing-Office. I like my workplace, which is mainly due to the fact that I have been so warmly welcomed. My tasks are diverse and range from posts for social media to translations.
What I find most positive in my opinion are the lovely people. Both in the language course and in the internship, you get to know to truly nice people from different countries, this kind of culture exchange is an experience, which I would not want to miss, just like all the new contacts, which I could make so far.
