Every year one of the most important traditions during Christmas is the market next to Málagas central park “Paseo del Parque.
The whole avenue is full of people and stands where you can buy christmas presents, figures for the cribs and other selfmade and original products.

In Spain it´s very typical to build a true-to-life Christmas crib. A representation with figures of the birthdate of Jesus. In Málaga you can find around 60 public cribs that you can visit for free.
Especially the one at the City Hall (Ayuntamiento) and the one at the Municipal Archives of Málaga. During these days also the “cofradia” open their doors to show their own cribs. Furthermore even every neighbourhood of Málaga has one and some of them are very original.

- New Year’s Eve gala night
The 31st of December is a special date in most parts of the world. In Málaga they live it even with a special excitement.
People use to dress in their best gala outfits to party all night long – doesn’t matter if it’s in a private environment or in clubs around the city.
The moment when it strikes midnight everybody meet at the main square (Plaza de la Constitución) where the grapes ritual takes place and people celebrating the new year with champagne and big hugs. You should live this experience.
Like a closing of the Christmas time, Málaga celebrates on the 5th of January the big parade (cabalgata) to welcome the Three-Kings in their city. So you can watch them and other fantasy characters passing by on big colorful trucks.
Especially for children an impressive moment and a good chance to rake all the free sweets which are thrown in the crowd.
